Welcome to Blenda

Welcome to Blenda

Selling art online has a strange flaw at its centre. You can photograph a painting beautifully. You can write the dimensions in the description. You can add a tasteful shot of it hanging in a styled room that is not the buyer's room. And still, the single most common reason a sale stalls is the quietest one: I can't tell how big it actually is, or how it'll look in my space.

So the buyer says "let me think about it." And thinking about it, more often than not, means never coming back.

We built Blenda to close that gap. Blenda provides a link to each of your artworks. Your buyer opens that link on their phone, no app to download, and sees the piece on their own wall at its true size. That's it. That's the product. The hard part was making the size right.

There are other tools. We obsessed over the one thing that matters.

We're not the first to let people preview art on a wall through a phone. We know that. What we did differently was refuse to be casual about accuracy.

A preview that shows a one-metre canvas as if it were the size of a postcard is worse than no preview at all, because it teaches the buyer to distrust what they're seeing. So we built Blenda on the newest and most capable technology available for this, and then we spent most of our energy on a single, unglamorous question: is it the right size?

Here's the honest part. We can't promise 100% perfect. Nobody can, and anyone who tells you otherwise is selling you something. The preview depends partly on the person holding the phone, the room they're in, the light, how they move. What we can promise is that we've pushed the accuracy as far as the technology allows, and we keep pushing it. When the size is right, the hesitation disappears. That's what we're chasing, every release.

Simple on both ends, or it doesn't work

A tool like this has two people to please, and they could not be more different.

On one side, the gallery, the artist, the print shop. They want to add this to how they already sell, not rebuild their whole world around it. So uploading a piece takes a minute: the image, the measurements, done. You get a link. We're rolling out plugins for the major selling platforms too, so for many sellers and aggregators it's even less than that (hell, we even have a white-label solution). The art they already have online just quietly gains a "preview at home" button. (See how it works.)

On the other side, the buyer. They are not technical, they are not patient, and they will close the tab the instant something feels like work. So there's nothing to install, no account, no instructions. They tap a link, they hold up their phone, they see the art on their wall. If they love it, the buy button is right there. We can link it straight to your checkout, so the moment of "yes" and the moment of "buy" are the same moment.

Both of those have to be true at once. Easy for you. Effortless and honest for them. Miss either one and the whole thing falls apart.

What we actually want to happen

We didn't build Blenda so people could play with a clever phone trick. We built it to do one specific thing: turn "let me think about it" into "it's on the way."

When a buyer can see the piece at the right size, on their own wall, in their own light, the biggest reason to hesitate is gone. They're not imagining anymore. They're looking. And people buy what they can see far more readily than what they have to picture.

The goal, plainly, is to lift your conversion rate enough that Blenda becomes a no-brainer for anyone selling art. Whether you're a gallery on a side street, an artist selling your own work, or a platform with thousands of pieces, the maths should be obvious: more of the people who already love your work should end up owning it.

That's the thing we want to be measured on. Not the technology. The sales it helps you close.

If you sell art as an artist or gallery and want to see this from your side, start with Blenda for galleries and artists. And if you just want to try it on a piece you love, create a user and try with your own artwork - it's free for the first few artworks.

So, welcome. We're glad you're here.

Kind regards

Mikkel

A few things people ask us straight away:

Does my buyer need to download an app?

No. They tap a link and it opens in their phone's browser. Nothing to install.

How accurate is the size, really?

As accurate as we can make it, which is very. It's never going to be a laser measurement, because it depends partly on the room and the person holding the phone, but the whole point of Blenda was getting this part right.

Can buyers buy straight from the preview?

Yes. We can put a buy button right in the experience and point it at your checkout, so there's no gap between wanting it and getting it.

I sell on an existing platform. Do I have to move?

No. Plugins for the major platforms are rolling out so your existing listings gain a "preview at home" button without you changing anything.
