Privacy Policy for Blenda on Shopify
Last updated: 4 October 2026
Blenda - Preview Art on Wall(“the App”) lets a Shopify store show a “See it on your wall” button on product pages, so shoppers can preview an artwork on their own wall at real size before they buy. The App is made by Blenda Art AS (“Blenda”, “we”). This policy explains what the App reads from your store, what it stores, and for how long.
Shoppers
The App collects no personal data about your shoppers. When a shopper opens a product page, the button sends only the product’s handle (e.g. shape-no-60) and the selected size (e.g. 50x70) to Blenda, to check whether the product has a preview. The preview runs in the shopper’s browser. The camera feed is processed on their device and is never sent to us. We count how many times each artwork is previewed, without recording who previewed it. The App does not request access to your customers or orders.
What the App reads from your store
The App asks Shopify for one permission, products(write_products). It uses it to:
- read product titles, handles, descriptions, product types, images and variant names, so it can create a preview for each artwork at the size you sell (when you press Import);
- write a small hidden field on each connected product, so the button appears instantly.
When you create your Blenda gallery from inside the App, it also reads your store’s name, email address, web address and unit system (metric or imperial) to set the gallery up. Shopify lets every app see basic store owner details; the App reads only these four and never your phone number or address.
What we store
- In the App: the access token Shopify issues at install, your gallery connection and its API key, your settings (frames, product type filter), and which products are connected, so it can keep them in sync.
- In your Blenda gallery:the artworks created from your products (image, title, size and product link), your store’s name and web address, and your store’s email address as the contact for the gallery.
- Billing: your plan is charged by Shopify. We store only which plan you are on, never payment details.
How long we keep it
- When you uninstall: the App deletes its own data for your store (access token, settings and connection) straight away.
- 48 hours later, when Shopify asks us to erase your store’s data: if the App created your gallery and you never added a blenda.art login to it, we delete the gallery, its artworks and their images. Reinstalling within those 48 hours brings everything back.
- If you have a blenda.art login to the gallery, it stays yours after you uninstall and is covered by Blenda’s main privacy policy. You can delete it at any time from the dashboard.
Shopify’s privacy requests
The App responds to Shopify’s mandatory requests (customers/data_request, customers/redact, shop/redact). Because it holds no shopper data, there is nothing to return or delete for a customer request. Shop requests are handled as described above.
Who processes the data
We use service providers for hosting, database and image storage. We do not sell data or use it for advertising. A list of providers is available on request.
Two public services are loaded by the shopper’s own browser, so they see the shopper’s IP address as any website does: the preview loads its 3D library from jsDelivr, and on a computer the button draws its QR code with the goQR.me service (api.qrserver.com), which receives the preview link the code points to. Neither receives a name, email or anything else about the shopper.
Your rights
You can ask us to show, correct or delete the data we hold about your store at any time by writing to hello@blenda.art.
Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above.
